Could anybody help me to identify my Christmas present and confirm this piece as an Bactrian Ibex weight?

Thanks!
Michael

It seems unlikely that this was intended to be a weight. If it had been, it would be much more compact. There are many small bronze figures from Afghanistan of similar kinds, but I don't remember any series of similar pieces that might be a series of weights. Looks old, though.

Thanks for your comment.
You may be right. I've searched the web for Bactrian weights and found a lot of coin weights, marble weights but some animal weights too (a nice bull weight in the British museum and animal-shaped plane weights). But no series of animal weights. The Bactrian standard weight is appr. 8,6 grams. Therefore the weight of my Ibex is to low.
